Build, Sail, Live.
One Crazy Dream.
We are building a 38’ sailboat from stump to ship, once completed she will take us around the world. We hope to inspire and educate as many people as possible along the way. Join us on our journey and let us show you that with a bit of dedication, good company and some old school smarts even the wildest of dreams can be made to come true!
How can you follow along?
We believe that this is going to be one hell of a journey. Because of this, we have decided that we need to record it as we go, for ourselves as much as for you. We will therefore be putting out videos on a regular basis showing our progress. Please follow along and join us! You can subscribe to our channel on YouTube to be notified once a video is released (every other Friday).
Is it possible to help support this project?
Yes, the best way is through Patreon! We are currently independently funded via our two full time jobs. As proud as we are of this, it makes it very difficult to dedicate the required amount of time we need to the build as well as to produce videos to share with you. Financial support via Patreon would allow us to work full time on the project and roll out more and better content for you!
What is Patreon?
Patreon is a site that was created to help support artists and creators by connecting them to fans wanting to support their work. When you become a Patron, you can decide to contribute a certain amount of money per creation (in our case, videos). You have complete control over how much you decide to donate per month and can set a cap on your monthly donations. Not only do you get to help support a project you love, but you receive a reward depending on the amount you decide to donate! To check out our Patreon page CLICK HERE.

Work is going to start going much faster from here on out. Up to this past winter, it has all mainly been prep work to get to the real building of Arabella. We were working full time jobs and only getting some boat building work in on nights and weekends. Now that we have both quit our jobs and we are finally in a position to work full time on the project, it is going to be a whole new game.
Because of this, we aren't going to be able to release a video each week due to the amount of work that Alix needs to put in not only to edit the videos but to shoot what is being accomplished as well.
This mean that the videos will have much more content related to the actual building of Arabella than they previously had. We should also be able to start backlogging videos so that next winter, when things slow down a little bit again, we will still be able to release interesting content.
Stay tuned! It's about to get real interesting!
PUT A LITTLE WIND IN OUR SAILS
Every donation will help us get that much closer to building Arabella. It will also allow us to more easily put out videos for you to follow along. Thank you all for your support!
Limited Edition T-Shirts
Winter has arrived in New England but that isn't stopping us! We are forging ahead on Arabella's hull and should be planking over this winter. To commemorate this, we are launching our second limited edition T-shirts. The design includes William Atkin's line drawings and signature (Thank you Pat Atkin!).
This is also perfect timing to launch our updated logo. The Stormy Petrel is what Atkin called the gaff rigged Ingrid hull, which is what we have decided to go with and can be seen on the front side of the shirt. The timing also works perfectly as these shirts should ship to anywhere in the contiguous U.S. in time for Christmas (no promises to locations overseas).
Thank you all for the interest and support and we wish you all happy holidays!
